You can step back and forth between JSP and JSF without any problems.

We all know you can do this, but how much work is it? The whole reason for
going EGL/JSF is in hopes that it covers nearly all of your basic needs
(emphasis on basic), which one would expect from a well honed framework.

In fact, with AJAX, you can even invoke RPG-CGI if you need to.

Note that there are browser limitations concerning which server you can make
a request to (i.e. the AJAX calls need to be made back to the same server
the page came from, for security reasons). So if you off-load your Java to
a Wintel server, you will probably run into some problems. Note that it has
been awhile since I have tried this out (3 or 4 years ago). Can you comment
on your success in doing this from your EGL/JSF apps?

It seems to me, Aaron, that the majority of your problems stem from your
tendency to use the wrong tool for the job. At which point, you blame the
tool.

I am not sure what you are saying here, or rather, how you are drawing this
conclusion. Where have I used the wrong tool for the job? I am using a JSF
implementation, just like you, to develop browser applications.
