Lukas,

I really don't think you told the OP the whole story.

1 - STRQRY does not come with QU1. Perhaps you, like me, originally
thought the OP was confused with WRKQRY. STRQRY comes with the base OS
and just includes options based on what you have installed. I have a lpar
with neither ST1 nor QU1 and it has STRQRY. I just NEVER use STRQRY.

2 - Your answer on putting SQL into programs obviously shows that you are
in the SQL-CLI camp. Although I disagree with SQL-CLI you have your right
to your opinion. But I think you have some responsibility to let him know
that imbedded SQL, without using CLI, does require ST1. Not to run, mind
you. But to maintain and develop new programs. After all, would he be a
happy camper if he got the budget approved with ST1 only to find out he
has to go back with hat in hand to get ST1 in order to develop imbedded
SQL without having to use CLI?

Rest is pretty close.
