Debbie,

First thing you need to do is check the entry in the
Distribution Directory for the user that is sending the
email (or the user that is running the job that is executing
the command to send the emails) and make sure they have an
SMTP entry.

1) WRKDIRE *ALL
2) Find the user Id that is sending the emails
3) Use option 2=edit
4) On the detail screen press F19=Change Name SMTP
5) Make sure the users return email address is correctly
entered

Subject: Email / SMTP question

I guess I have a set up related question.

Our network administrator is unhappy because when we get
bounce backs on our
emails that are sent from the System i and out to the world
it shows the
name of our system then 'xxxxxxx.chefscatalog.com'. Then in
parenthesis it
shows the ip address of our system. Of course with PCI
audits coming we
are worried about this information being exposed.

I thought all of our email was being routed the mail server.
Is there
something I can do differently??
