p6 blades announced today:
http://www-03.ibm.com/systems/p/news/announcement/20071106_annc.html

IBM is also announcing two statements of direction for the JS22 Express:

Support for the i5/OS(R) operating system is planned for POWER6
processor-based blades with delivery in 2008.
The BladeCenter S chassis is planned to support the POWER6
processor-based blades for AIX, Linux on POWER and i5/OS applications.

---------------------------

hopefully this means the system i will be able to run on low priced,
very fast hardware. an open question is what will be the price of
i5/OS? a UBP equivalent of DB2 + AIX would price it to market. The
marketplace does continue to advance. VS2008 is being released this
month and it is packed full with software advances and great features.
