Trevor is right. I spoke at COMMON Focus and at iSeries Devcon two weeks later. I would say the two conferences were very comparable in attendee count. The audiences are mostly a different group of folks due to the content provided. I don't think anyone would call the conference provider for iSeries Devcon and ask how many are coming to determine if they should attend! You look at the presentations, the speakers, and your needs, company policy (for location, travel and whatnot), the dates, and the costs, and then you match them up. If they match you go, if not you don't. There seems some strange fascination with COMMONs numbers but not anyone else's.

In my informal process I found nearly 100% of those polled responded VERY favorably to the format of COMMON Focus. All said they would return to such an event. They liked the full day sessions and the shorter format. That doesn't mean it's for everyone of course but there is a piece of the audience that liked it.

Must be a small number. :)

Chad,

Why would the number of attendees decide on a conference for you? If the
conference provides your educational needs, why would the number of
attendees matter?

Do you have a list of criteria for choosing which conference to attend?
