Again, I challenge anyone to exploit that particular weakness (or
indeed any
weakness) by using a buffer overrun exploit.

i5/OS applications that are network facing and improperly programmed can
still cause security problems on your System i. These are not buffer
overruns, but they can ruin your day just as well.

e.G. a CGI program written in native ILE C that is vulnerable to SQL
injection.

Just because some design aspects of i5/OS are foolproof doesn't make it
any more difficult to create insecure applications.

And at least I don't run i5/OS to run i5/OS - I run it to run
applications.
