Well, it was quite a few years ago that I looked at the IBI demo of this
product.

Well, i've just installed the product, i don't have extensive
performance metrics yet.

I define acceptable as in "page load time is below 10 seconds" i.E.
faster than the administrative http server. This is mostly the case, but
not throughout the whole application.

It is most certainly not snappy or responsive like e.G. Google Mail,
Google Reader, Microsoft Outlook Web Access 2007, etc. pp. But one could
probably work with it without going completely insane.

The whole application looks like it was made in 1995 (except the Power
Painter thingie, which looks kinda decent).

All Query/400 imports are failing right now, so I can't provide
comparison times. I've rewrote a simple Query in QU2,

Response time when running a simple sort report with sample data (around
10k records), I get a new browser window open in about a second, and all
the report data transferred in around 5 seconds.

Can you define "acceptable"? For example, how long does it take to get
data
back from a table with 10K, or 100K, or 1 million records?

Subject: Install 5733-QU2 on a barebones Model 515 and NLS woes

Hi,

I've installed 5733-QU2 for the first time on a Model 515, with 2 GB RAM
and 2x70GB disks.

I've written about my experiences:

http://projectdream.org/wordpress/2007/10/15/installing-5733-qu2-aka-db2
-web-query-for-system-i-v1r1m0/

I had a few problems with NLS, and opened a PRM because of this. Anyone
knows about this problem? It runs fine in English, and the speed seems
to be at least acceptable. Anyone got NLS working with 5733-QU2?

Thanks in advance,

Lukas
