In addition to allocating the additional LIC space, there is also a
requirement for the load source disk unit to be 17gb. Is yours a smaller
size?

Group,

Am preparing to upgrade to v5r4 via image catalog. We have 35gb disks at
about 78% capacity. Have applied the prep ptf's.
When I attempt to verify/sort the catalog I get the following;

WRKIMGCLGE IMGCLG(V5R4UPGRAD)

Volume *VIRTUALEXPORT removed from optical device.

Volume I_BASE_01 added to optical device.

VERIFICATION OF IMAGE CATALOG FAILED WITH REASON CODE 02. LOAD SOURSE
TOO
SMALL FOR RELEASE V5R4M0. RELEASE V5R4M0 REQUIRES A LARGER LOAD
SOURCE.
TO DETERMINE THE MIMIMUM LOAD SOURCE SIZE, REVIEW THE ISERIES

INFORMATION CENTER FOR RELEASE V5R4M0 FOR INFORMATION ABOUT ALLOCATING

ADDITIONAL LICENSED INTERNAL CODE (LIC) SPACE. SEE THE TOPIC ON
PERFORM
INITIAL UPGRADE OR REPLACEMENT TASKS.

Verification for image catalog V5R4UPGRAD failed.

Reason code 02 indicates that I've not expanded the LIC area, BUT I
HAVE. Have tried both the prep version from the menu and the API

CALL PGM(QLPALCSP) PARM('V5R4M0' '0')

Trying to do again from the menu tells me that it's already been done
and applied on a previous IPL.

I'm confused. Is there maybe a secret ptf that I'm missing?

Any help appreciated.

TIA

Michael McClain
