Query 400 was pretty easy to train basic functions to users.
I expect this product to be much more robust, even at the base level.
When I say "user" I'm really meaning "power user", someone who is
analyzing data all day. I'm hoping to bring this tool in and hopefully end (or lessen) the constant requests for CA downloads into Excel.
As to the SPENDMONEY, having this kind of try & buy is great way to do it. The Query400 is very stable, but very limited & absolutely "legacy". When I show that to a new user, new to the system, their reaction is "ya' gotta be kidding!". Better tools have been out there for years, but theirs is a spendmoney first (or some xx day trial which users hate when you don't purchase the product). IBM now can say "this is our query product and it is modern" and like any other advanced versions - costs more for the best features.

Let's see....
we have a graphical developer (whether you use it or not)
graphical console
graphical interactive sql
graphical query (finally)
various methods of developing graphical end user programs
world class Apache http server and Websphere App server

Any green screen left is our fault, not IBM's (and I'm maintaining & still writing green, in addition to newer browser based).

I think you get to buy that from Information Builders. How many got formal
training on Query/400? :-))

Waiting to hear how this goes.
To several customers, this is the best news from Rochester in a while.
Any word on pgmr and end user training?

CD's showed up late yesterday afternoon, haven't had a chance
to even look at yet, downloading Redbook (slowly) now for
Install instructions (no documentation with the order just
the 2 CD's for 5733QU2) Hoping the OLAP, Active Reports and
Developer Workbench on them too.

Anybody tried an install yet?
