Couple of points.

1. as stated before you need a 17gb or larger load source for v5r4
yours is an 8gb drive(1)

b. You can get to a larger load source(35gb) if you save/restore the system and move the drives around. Since you have three empty slots maybe you add some more 35gb drives.

BIG gotcha:

V5R4 requires 17GB disks or better. Smaller model 270s have 8.5GB
drives.
