RE: ASMI

Don't feel bad. I have not found it either. However I have been in the
ASMI interface once before when we first installed the 520 and HMC.
That was back at V5R2 so a couple of years back. Need more booze to
revive the brain cells...

Anyhow navigation area is the left column and task area is the right
side.

Ok - Following the this and another thread, I am trying to check the
settings to see if my FSP is HMC managed or not. I must be dense,
because I
am not finding how to get to the ASMI from the HMC. I have read the
manual,
and read the posts, but nothing is clicking for me.

Manual says;

1. In the Navigation area of the HMC, select the managed system.
2. In the Tasks area, click Operations.
3. Click Advanced System Management (ASM). The Launch ASM Interface
window
opens.

What is the Navigation area and what is the Tasks area?

I know that I downloaded some software from the HMC to my desktop to
manage
the HMC remotely - How is that done? I check the archives, but have not
found any answers.
