Ok - Following the this and another thread, I am trying to check the
settings to see if my FSP is HMC managed or not. I must be dense, because I
am not finding how to get to the ASMI from the HMC. I have read the manual,
and read the posts, but nothing is clicking for me.

Manual says;

1. In the Navigation area of the HMC, select the managed system.
2. In the Tasks area, click Operations.
3. Click Advanced System Management (ASM). The Launch ASM Interface window
opens.

What is the Navigation area and what is the Tasks area?

I know that I downloaded some software from the HMC to my desktop to manage
the HMC remotely - How is that done? I check the archives, but have not
found any answers.

Thanks

Jim

Chris,

You can use the HMC to access the ASMI. Otherwise you can take a
PC, and connect it to the HMC2 port on your 520, and its default address
will be 192.168.3.147. Just put your PC on the same subnet, then open a
browser and enter https://192.168.3.147 and you will be connected to your
ASMI.
