Just to let everyone know. We IPLd last night (one system value was wrong ... QPWDMAXLEN was set to 8 and required an IPL to change it! ... This is sounding like a Windows box!) Anyway ... all is fine with QDLS. Apparently after the migration directory services didn't start.

Thanks!
Mary

Why not just use the IFS? It is much better and 5x faster than QDLS ...
and does not require SNA system directory entries (ie. WRKDIRE) to use it.

When I try to map a drive to QDLS, I am prompted for a user name and password. My user name and password on the System i are the same as my network user name and password. When I enter them into the prompt box, it comes back with the active directory prefix as in "AD/username". FYI ... I had this problem earlier and was told to change the domain name in NetServer to something that didn't really exist. I did that. It appeared to work ... at least I could map the drive and get to it.

I also made sure my NetServer profile was not disabled by doing a CHGUSRPRF. No change.

Oh and BTW, we installed a new box over the weekend. I am pretty certain this is involved. I did a RSTDLO in a restricted state and then RSTAUT afterward.

Any ideas what's going on?

Thanks!
Mary
