Shannon,

Everything is considered "Reg Fee" (i.e., income). If COMMON incurs a penalty because all of the rooms in the block were not used, that means they have to pay the hotel (in this case, Opryland) the penalty (i.e., expense) out of income. It's a pretty simply accounting entry.

I'm just curious about how this works. Does COMMON get the extra fee then,
for the person not staying in a COMMON hotel? If so, does COMMON then have
to give that fee back to the hotel?
I'm just wondering what/where that fee goes/is used for then.

Thanks

Robert,

The rate difference applies to locals as well unless you belong to a local user group in the Nashville area. If you do belong to a "currently active" local user group then your user group representative will give you a discount code that will offset the increased registration rate for not stating in the hotel.

Trevor,

*My* question has not been answered. Do you upcharge those COMMON attendees who live in the conference city? It would be illogical to rent a room at the conference hotel when you live in the conference city. Out-of-towners need the rooms, locals do not.
