Five or six years ago, a client was looking at the batch report server as a
method of ceasing to print hundreds of pages of paper during each month end
process. I talked to Richard and told him that the pertinent info the users
needed was in the USRDTA column, and that info would be a great name for
each pdf. At that time, the software did not support using the USRDTA
column.

The next day, he called me back and had me download the new version of the
software. I plugged it in and it worked perfectly. I emailed him back with
the client's PO number. From that point on, the client has been sending
their month end reports to the IFS in pdf format, and when the auditor comes
in, the controller hands him a CD containing the reports.

The savings in the paper bill and the audit bill paid for the software.

The RJS batch report server can do this. The reports can be placed into
any
folder with the user data contents as the name of the pdf file.

Thanks, Richard. :-))

Subject: Ops Nav and spooled files

Have a user who brings up spooled files thru Ops Nav and
drags them to a folder. The name of the .txt is
Spooled file Name & Job nbr .txt
What is really needed is the User Data of the spooled file
(an order nbr) so that they can fill this folder & see the order numbers.
Is there a way to override how the file name is formed?
