As I'm sure everyone knows, in the Notes 8.0 announcement IBM chose not
to release the long anticipated support for Notes databases in DB2 on
i5/OS. I had heard that the support even made it into beta, but as of
now, it sound like there are no plans for a production release.

There was a VERY strong negative reaction to the announcement in Europe.
I haven't seen as much chatter about it in North America, but I may not
be looking in the right places.

COMMON is working on a formal response to IBM, but I was wondering if
anyone here has some thoughts. Specifically:

1. Are you serving Notes from i5/OS?

2. Did you have future plans based on the availability of NFSDB2 on
i5/OS?

3. Will the absence of the support mandate that you shift to a different
Notes server platform?

Cheers,
Randy
