Damn - I was going to say something else, but your ESP is forcing my hand!

Who understands user spaces in the general RPG community? Who understand
pointers? Not a high percentage of our community - so they are screwed when
it comes to the cycle :-)

As for free format, that is like saying a BASIC programmer could understand
the cycle. Sure, it is possible - many of us came from BASIC to learn RPG
and the cycle. But, the cycle is not easy to learn! Sure, in the basic read,
write cycle, yes. But add any complexity, and the cycle will bite you in the
arse more times than not! Level breaks take time to 'get' - let alone
anything beyond that!

Man, you cycle programmers think you are soooo smart ... :-D

And I knew you would say THAT.

The difference is, the new techniques are easy enough to learn - and there
is more support for them. RPG cycle, not so.
That would not include, of course, bleeding edge - where you need to learn
and make it up as you go. I would not call RPG Cycle leading edge.

If someone can understand things like user paces, pointers, free form
RPG, etc, then it shouldn't be hard for them to learn the cycle.

Contrary to popular belief ... it ain't rocket science.
