Absolutely. Views are a great way to put business logic/business
knowledge into your database. Say you have a certain type of customer
in your customer master file (i.e. Master Account), and a customer
fits that definition based upon several different criteria in the
record. Rather than having to remember all of the criteria and teach
it to all of your programmers, create a view that queries out your
Master Accounts and tell your programmers to use it. And the ones
that really care about the definition can read the SQL statement used
to create the view.
