AM CL Difference In Dates

My mission is to read some multi-member archive files and delete any
members older than six months. To accomplish this task quickly, I get my
creation date from a RTVMBRD (retrieve member description), which gives me
a date in CYYMMDDHHMMSS format where the `C` is `0` for 19xx and `1` for
20xx. I pass this whole date as a parm to an RPG program where I can
replace the 0 or 1, move the resulting eight digit date to a date field,
then perform my date test. A return code from the RPG into the CL controls
whether I delete that member or move on to the next one in sequence.

Is there a date testing method which I can use to compare today's date and
the member creation date in CL and find the difference in months? If so, I
could remove the RPG program from the process.
