One option would be to de-install an existing drive (the process moves
data to the remaining disks), add 2 17GB disks, mirror them, migrate the
load source to the new mirror, and wash-rinse-repeat (except the
migration bit) until you have 6 17GB drives, mirrored. It takes a long
time (realistically, more time than a save/restore) but in theory you
don't even have to back up first (although I would anyway).


Your best bet is to get 4-6 17GB drives, save the system, pull all five
existing drives, install the new drives (RAID 5 or mirroring is your
call), and restore (installing the OS if necessary since you don't have
a tape drive).

That way, if it fails for some reason, you can pull the new drives, put
your old drives back in, and IPL on your old config.
