When our HMC monitor died, I plugged in a standard CRT and it worked.
Though the first one could not display at the refresh rate, resolution
that the HMC is set at. But a second larger CRT worked. Find out what
the setting are for the HMC and make sure your solution supports it.
Nice part of using IBM's, they came out and replaced it free as part of
the HMC maintenance. Keep that in mind.

After pricing IBMs rack mounted LCD monitor/kb to be used with a HMC
($3000+), i'm pricing some other options. There shouldn't be any reason
that a 3rd party LCD monitor/kb wouldn't work with a HMC, right?
