then transferring the data from that one spreadsheet to the iSeries, three
times a week.

We download a spreadsheet from a certain carrier's website and save it
to our IFS and then use an RPG program and Scott Klement's HSSF utility
to read the spreadsheet and update or database files. It works really
well. It's not exactly automated, but we only do it once a year so
making it a fully automated process hasn't been too important.
Since you are dealing with a csv file you could save the file to your
IFS and then have an RPG program take care of the rest.
