subject: RE: scanning software

She came back later to clarify that she is looking for RF terminal
software.

Depending on how you aquired your handhelds, your vendor can likely set
you up if specify the need for 5250 connectivity. If its too late for
that, there are dozens of commercial offerings out there but you'll of
course have to pick something appropriate for your handhelds, their OS,
symbologies you need to handle, etc.

Currently we have a lot of older Intermec handhelds running a vendor
supplied emulator, and a dozen or so winCE based devices running
Naurtech's ce5250. The vendor *did* supply an emulator with these, but
it had a 200 character input buffer limit which made 2d scanning
impossible for us, so we ditched it.
