The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.

We have upgraded to an i5 570, running V5R3 at this time. Our next
major project is using the new TS3500 tape library to do tape
encryption. We currently use Option 21 QMNSAVE, with modifications, for
a full backup and have an in-house written backup for our daily backups.
We do a save library *ALLUSR with the SWA checkpoint.
We use some features of BRMS to catalog tapes, but we do not use BRMS to
its fullest.
Is anyone using tape encryption at this time? Do you use in-house
written programs or BRMS? What issues did you run into? Are you using
virtual tape drives then saving to tape?
I understand we will have approximately a 10% increase due to
encryption.
Any help will be appreciated.
