Uh, frankly, the prediction that IBM would do to iSeries people something
similar to what HP did to the 3000 people was predicted a LONG LONG time
ago... The IBM trend towards unix and away i5/os...ditto...

But then, as I'm sure will happen now, those with their heads (in the sand)
will say this is all negativism, etc...and not ever going to happen...and so
what if it does...etc...yadda yadda yadda... Those are the folks that
deserve to be filtered... Can you say "irrational exuberance" ??

Reality, what a concept...

terrific. what is next, i5/OS running on the p5? ;)

better integration between EGL and RPG.

I dont think, they think, they have the time. IBM did very well
poaching HP3000 customers when that system imploaded. My guess is IBM
fears the same thing happening to them.

But obviously I dont have the answers to this puzzle because if IBM's
prime focus now is to move system i customers to its other systems
before they move to a competitor, they would immediately put i5/OS in
La p5 partition and drop i5 hardware all together.
