I would like to retire on this OS, regardless of its name.

Sorry Boomer <g>. I was just listening to a statistician talk about
Baby Boomer's and retirement. Here are a couple of highlights....

Traditionally, 2% of the nation's population was over 65 years old.
That has changed radically over the last century so that now 13% of the
population is over 65 years.

A girl born in 2000 has a 50% chance of living to 100 years. This is
unprecedented in human history.

If you want to know what you expected lifespan is, do the following
math...

If you are a woman, take the age at death of the oldest of either of
your grandmothers or your mother, and add 13 years. You have a 70%
chance of living to that age.

If you are a man, take the age at death of the oldest of either of your
grandfathers or your father, and add 11 years. You have a 70% chance of
living to that age.

My Dad lived to almost 83, which means I have a 70% chance of living 94
years. Retirement? Demographers don't see that most of us are going to
retire and play golf for 25-30 years, odds are you'll still be working
at something well into your 80's.

I think I know your age Joe <g>, Do you think that CPF, er... I5/OS will
still be in operation in 2040?

jte
