Peter - if you have STRSQL available try the following
Within STRSQL
Press F13 then option 1
with
Statement processing . . . . . *RUN
change
SELECT output . . . . . . . .
to 3 and press Enter
Name your output file within whatever library with option 2 to replace file
and press ENTER twice to return back to the STRSQL session
then type
select * from yourfilename
and press enter
This will create an exact copy of yourfilename with ALL the same fields AND
I'm pretty sure NO keys.
You will have to CLRPFM the new file you have just created
Dont forget to press F13 then option 1 and change SELECT output back to 1

Convoluted (on paper) but pretty simple

"If you copy it back to a DDS described file...

Find a copy of the original file DDS specs
Make a copy of the DDS with a new name (remove the key)
Compile the new file (which has NO key)
Cpyf the combined file back to this new file

Query your heart out..."

Oh, I m sorry, I understand the approach now. I did not considered this
approach because this is a third party software (MAPICS) and we do not
have the sources for files. I know I can re-create the source, place it
in any QDDSSRC file, remove the key definitions and compile, creating
them
my error file.

I was looking for an easier and cleaner solution.
