We don't give a tinkers dam about a month end, or period end, backup. We
do our complete save during the weekend once every 8 weeks with no save in
December or January. Says a lot about year end eh?

Some libraries are saved at year end into save files for the year. Thank
God for the new compression options in v5r4.

Nightly saves involve many select libraries, IFS files, etc.

And, we've recently started journalling as part of our Mimix installation.
Actually I had a recent opportunity to use them as a restore. Since we
don't journal before images I had to do a APYJRNCHG and couldn't do a
RMVJRNCHG. But all was cool because it was a mass add followed by a mass
delete. I wanted to undo the delete. So I simply ran the APYJRNCHG to
redo the mass add. In a pinch I could have restored from the previous
nights backup, and ran the appropriate APYJRNCHG. I like journalling!
Also used the audit journal to whack a bpcs user upside the head. Instead
of taking the bpcs option to work with his spool files he was taking the
bpcs option to work with a particular output queue. Then, once in there
he was deleting everyone's spool files in that output queue. I like
journalling!
