Roger,

Last I checked, West coasters could get evening flights from EDT and CDT
going west... but you can't get that kind of of a flight from the west going
east....

Not that I have any issues with the west coast or west coasties...this is
purely cost and logistics....

San Antonio had evening flights coming east that you could hit most airports
in the east coast by 2300 from an evening flight out of SAT.

Rob,

You stated the point exactly. One of the biggest things I hate about
PST
conferences is you can't get back without taking a red eye....so either
way
you lose a whole day to travel.

This is one of the reasons I've asked for years that COMMON keep their
conferences East of the Mississippi (with the exception of San Antonio)
and
south of the mason Dixon line... Not for political purposes, for
logistical
and pricing purposes....

Oh well

And you should probably plan on leaving a west coast conference in the
AM
anyway. Leaving late in the afternoon means that you don't get back
until
early AM - when many non hub airports are already closed.
