WDSC is written in Java, and uses the standard Java Toolbox ports to
connect to the System i. These ports are listed here:

As far as I know, WDSC doesn't yet support SSL connections (though, if that's not true, I'd be interested to know more!). So you can skip the SSL ports listed on the preceding link.

I recommend that you use a VPN for WDSC, if at all possible, since sending data in plain text has obvious security ramifications :) Though, I've used SSH tunnels successfully, as a quick alternative to setting up a VPN.
