Thanks a lot Rob, I could definitely use an example. I'd like to learn
more about utilizing APIs from a CL program. As a System Admin I only do
CL (not RPG). I'm capturing the CPU utilization of a single job over a 5
second interval, every 60 seconds. I noticed that if I don't run the
WRKACTJOB first with a RESET(*YES) followed by a RESET(*NO) 5 seconds
later, the CPU was always shoing 0.0%. Below is some sample/pseudo code of
my program which gets called every 60 seconds.

WRKACTJOB OUTPUT(*PRINT) RESET(*YES) JOB(JWSOD)
DLTSPLF FILE(QPDSPAJB)
DLYJOB DLY(5)
WRKACTJOB OUTPUT(*PRINT) RESET(*NO) JOB(JWSOD)
CPYSPLF FILE(QPDSPAJB) TOFILE(E2GPLPOBUT/CHKJWSOD1)
DLTSPLF FILE(QPDSPAJB)

RCVF through the CHKJWSOD1 physical file until I find the record I want
%SST out the CPU percentage
Use WRTREC to write out the value of the CPU percentage for the job, as
well as a date/timestamp
