Did you dig all the way down to the details dialog for setting the Where? It gives you fields lists and operators and all that - very nice - as I recall, MS Query has something like it - you still need some idea of logical expressions, or am I too long not using MS Query?

I think you could be right. If you don't have the CA license this must be extra cost. In the sites I've worked we have always had CA, so (for me) this is included.

A good point for MS Query is that it could be easier for non-tech personnel to use (no need to know SQL in order to select some specific data (e.g. WHERE)).

I think so, Luis. From the Access packaging page, the line about
iSeries Access for Windows:

Must have 5722-XW1 to use PC5250 and Data Transfer

and in the line about 5722-XW1

User Based or Processor Based Purchase

So if you have the emulator you also have Data Transfer.
