Part of the estimate is how you are configuring the system.
Are you restoring only programs and files, or
users? (always do users, auth lists, etc before other objects from old system)
hardware configuration? (devices, controllers, etc)
software config - addtl subsystems, etc
system values?
http serving (classic or apache on your 250-only apache on a 520)
websphere?
What release are you at?
Planning a traditional side by side upgrade or quick & dirty?
Using any s36 functions?
There may be optional parts of the OS not preloaded and you will need to load from cd.
Apply cume ptfs and groups
Any firewall issues so 520 can download ptfs from IBM.
I can unpack & get a signon in an hour or so (if console set right at factory)
but then many hours to go.

Subject: Time Estimate

Hi guys,

I'm taking delivery of a new small 520 on Monday. What's a good
estimate as to how long it will take to get this puppy up and running?
A couple of hours? All day? No HMC to worry about. I'm moving from an
antique model 250 so you can see it has been ages since I've done this.
