Hi Rob,

If you must use a UUID as an IFS filename, please convert it to hex or base64. Don't try using the binary values as a filename, it'll come back to bite you, no matter what you start the filename with!

Like Roger, I wonder why you don't just use tmpnam()? Is there some reason UUID must be used?

Are the weird hex codes, generated by using a UUID, going to come back to haunt me if I use UUID's to name my IFS files?
EVAL UUID
UUID = 'lnõn. Ðä'
EVAL UUID :X
     00000     93952803 1D2518CF 954B0004 AC08432B   - ln.....õn...Ð.ä.

Would prefixing them be "a good idea"? Like prefix them with "UUID" so that I can do a RMVLNK '/tmp/UUID*.txt'?
