I feel your pain.  I pulled an all nighter to create a new lpar just to 
keep at V5R3 for a spell because, well, when I went to V5R4 there were no 
versions of WAS supported.  That V5R3 lpar is now gone.

Don't know if I'd like to run, as you do, on a version of WAS that is not 
supported by IBM.  That would scare the snot out of me.
