Seems someone answered this earlier - there are 2 pragma's that make this happen - pragma linkage and pragma map - check them out in the C Language Reference preprocessor directives chapter - 8, I think.

Uh, but that still sidesteps the small issue that Mr.
Mason was proposing an RPG solution (not to mention one
that I've been aware of for some time, and use frequently)
to a C problem.

In RPG, you can call whatever you damn well please, and
qualify it however you damn well please. The question was
about C. At this point, it's also moot, since I realized
that this was a situation in which I could safely append
the library with the needed program to the end of the
*LIBL.
