Jerry,

If you rename CRTDEVDSP and CRTDEVPRT and try to autoconfigure either a 
printer or a device do they work?  I am pretty sure that autoconfigure 
runs these commands under the table.  That's one way to stop it.  But you 
also may have to rename the DLT* commands.  There is also a command exit 
point.  That if those commands run, fire something off.
