Thanks for the response.  It is stalled on the pc but I'd like to for a msgw on 
the iSeries so we'll know to cancel it b4 the backup or other jobs run.  I'm 
hoping that changing the msgq delivery to *BREAK will force the msgw.

That should have been returned to the caller (PC). That's not an inquiry
message, so changing the job to INQ won't do any good. Are you sure it's
held up on the System I side? I'll bet it's actually stalled on the PC
side because of that error so the PC hasn't closed the connection so
QZDASOINIT still has the locks held.
