You're probably right about the QPWDLVL change breaking your connection.
We just went through that here, and the different QPWDLVL did break
Management Central functions in iSeries Navigator.

Check the help about QPWDLVL for more details. The systems must be IPLed
for the changes to QPWDLVL to take effect.

QFileSvr.400 problem

Hello all,

We are using the QFileSvr.400 file system to exchange file between some
Iseries. Presently, one of our Iseries is not reachable. When I try to
access it I get an error stating that I do not have the authority. the
profile that I am using exist on both machine, has the same password on
both machine and have QSECOFR right on both machine.I can telnet into
it, just the access trought QFileSvr.400 does not work.

The only thing that has changed, and I think this is the cause of our
problem, is the QPWDLVL system value on the machine that I can not reach
was set to 2 instead of 0 and an IPL was done this weekend. Can someone
confirm to me that my syspicions are right? I did not find anything
relating to that in the information center.

Any idea would be appreciated.
