FTP bottleneck

GB lan on i5 570 lpar. 
5 other lpar's or boxes all doing ftp sessions to this lpar.
All grabbing 600MB ifs files (ftp image catalogs).  Repeat, the other 5 
lpars are doing gets.
Disk drives on source machine bored at 20-30% busy.
iNav says lan card is running at only 16%.  But 16% of GB is over 100MB, 
right?
CPU% on source machine 17.5
