.NET Data question -- MIDRANGE-L

have a kinda vendor developed/kinda in house klidged (not by me) site using
NET data and intermittently getting the following, before I call the vendor
and/or get on our in house people does the error msg below give me any idea
as to what (it very well could be a data issue).

NET.DATA Error: Function call to DTW_FORMAT failed. Error Number is 4001.
