The name of the operating system has been "OS/400" from 1989 until 2003 (V1R1 through V5R2). With V5R3, the name was changed to "i5/OS" and even V5R3 internally still says "OS/400" ... (this was "fixed" in V5R4).

Why not simply refer to the "platform" as "i5/OS" or "OS/400" ... and all of this "naming" confusion goes away...?
