Imagine that MS "abandoning" a technology and "recommending" (in the MS
thesarus this is a synonym for "forcing") you MIGRATE (again!!!) to their
latest and greatest (NOT!!!)

WebDAV can remotely access Exchange. WebDAV is de-emphasized in Exchange
2007. We recommend that you develop new messaging applications using
Exchange Web Services, and migrate existing applications when feasible."

Exchange environment. So I guess I should have said Exchange since I
would not really "talk" to Outlook client but the Exchange server.

Since I sent this I did come across this product
http://www.syncex.com/api/connector-application-programming-interface.ht
ml which looks like it should run on Websphere. On the details it talks
about Exchange using WebDAV. If it does (and it's documented somewhere)
I would think any web app could update Exchange

Are you using Outlook as a standalone Application, or are you using it
as a Groupware client in a Microsoft Exchange environment?

You mentioned GroupWise, so I'm going to assume you have an Exchange
server.

I wouldn't approach this problem with an application from the i5/OS
side, since this lacks any sort of interface to Exchange. Instead, write
a windows application which gets the data from your System i, and writes
it to Exchange.

Here's some sample code you could maybe use:

Has anyone on this list done any work doing dynamic updating of calendar
items in Outlook 2003 from an iSeries application? Our iSeries knows
about student and faculty class schedules and we would like to try and
post those classes to their Outlook Calendars. With out old e-mail
system (GroupWise) we did vCal files for the user to import but we would
prefer to do a direct update
