Set up the OUTQ using the follow as a basis. I have 800 IP connected
printer on one of the 11 LPARs I administer.

CRTOUTQ OUTQ(QUSRSYS/UTEST)
        RMTSYS(UTEST.X.X)
        RMTPRTQ('*none')
        AUTOSTRWTR(1)
        CNNTYPE(*IP)
        DESTTYPE(*OTHER)
        MFRTYPMDL(*HP5)
        DESTOPT('XAIX')
        TEXT('Printer Name - Model Info - Location')

If you use only IP addresses then there are two params to change:
          RMTSYS (*INTNETADR)
          INTNETADR 'xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx'

Good Luck

Subject: HP laserjet 8100's attached via IP config - anyone done this?

Is anyone using a HP laserjet 8100 attached via IP on a iSeries?

I'm having a fun time getting the iSeries to talk to the HP...would be
interested in any devd's if you have one to spare... We think we're
down to a SNMP error but it would be nice to have a devd for comparing.

TIA
