I'm having a lot of problems with this (and many pre and co reqs) as I
have not done any ptfs since the cum when we installed V5R3 (18 months
ago).

Is there a way to "shut off" the system value and go back to just
changing QTIME as we used to?

I don't think V5R3 has DSPJVMJOB, so to find stuff running Java on V5R3
you could try WRKACTJOB and then look in the Function column for
anything listing JVM- "something"

One possibility, Service Monitor (job QSRVMON in QSYSWRK).

I see that, and I tried to install the MF37068, but it said JAVA
services were running and so it could not install. Of all that is
running on the system i, I don't know what is java related and must be
stopped?

MF37086 is for V5R3M5. Try MF37068 for V5R3M0.

It says I need a pre-req ptf named: QMF37086 *FILE QGPL
SAVF PTF 9400DG3-MF37086 V5R3M5 -

before I may install SI26039 and SI25991. Yet, that MF37086 shows up
"goofy" and I am NOT able to do anything with it on my V5R3M0 system.
