I think people ARE comparing, but they are comparing horse+buggy to motorized vehicle. Comparing VW Beetle with New Beetle. Comparing Word for DOS 1.0 with MS Office Word 2003.

That is like comparing SEU with WDSc. Both perform the same 'function', but one is out of date and not updated any more. The original has much much less functionality, but who cares if the old one still runs. The new one is scary to the people who have the old one, and cannot get over the wall of familiarity to drive the new beetle. Hey it still runs on the same fuel (RPG)...

This has turned into a WDSc vs SEU which is hardly a
fair comparison.

No less fair than comparing Windows software to iSeries software in general.

I doubt anything I say is going to matter one whit, but
I had just grown weary of hearing how great this product
is when I see and hear a great deal to the contrary.

I stayed out of the conversation until I grew weary of your characterization
of WDSC as a "shoddy", "broken" product. Others call it "beta". That's
simply wrong. Every other Windows product of even near this level of
complexity, from games to Office to development tools, have bugs and issues. Yet, I don't see you or indeed most of the other naysayers switching off of
Windows.

Thus, I find your position somewhat tenuous. That's all.

Joe
