So, on the basis on one application - not knowing the size of the server, the size of the application, how it was installed, or whether the system was tuned to handle it - we should not use PASE?

Seems reasonable to someone with AS/400 syndrome, I expect :-)

Frank Soltis made a comment about AIX binaries running better under PASE than AIX which was a puzzle to me. A colleague installed PHP on a company iSeries, along with an open source store-front application that was using a MySQL database (I think), but the performance was pretty poor.
