Hi Steven

A couple of questions:

- What time frame do the tapes have to be available in ?
- Do the tapes HAVE to come from a save conducted on the primary site ?
- Is there any possibility you could courier the saves daily to the
backup site so they're "already there" ?

A point worth making: if you can't trust the backups on your HA
machine, then you don't have HA....

We're going to have to abandon the idea of duplicating the tapes from the
HA site back to the primary site. We made a error converting the size of
the backups. Its actually about 250 GB not 2.5GB. We won't have a large
enough comm pipe to send those tapes back.

Although in theory we could use a courier to transport tapes back to the
primary site, I don't think this will be done. The HA site is basically a
lights out operation, with no one from our company on site.

We'll have to present a graceful way to allow our manager to choose
between her goals of 24/7 availability, and a set of tapes in hand each
day. We will have to point out that we can do a full system save in about
90 minutes if the HA site is unavailable, and we have to vacate our
primary site.
