Lukas,

With the size of the server you are using, you are definitely in the XS part of SMB. Once you get a fraction larger - even at the 50 user level, there is no comparison of Wintel against System i that is possible.

I think there does need to be a smaller System i for a the S customer - I wrote this in May http://www.angustheitchap.com/Angus/Blog/9DB4E2FD-AD63-4A3E-93EA-2F2A939BF799.html

However, I think we have to draw a line between the hobbyist/developer and the business. While a hobbyist can afford a broken server/PC/i until they get a new one brought in, business cannot afford to be down while they wait for Best Buy (or Swiss equivalent) to open. This is why we pay more for the hardware - disk not included.

Trevor

On pure web serving, it might be a great spec. For concurrent transaction
processing, maybe not so cool. But the iSeries will handle dozens, if not
100s, of users.

With the two standard 36GB Disks? The system already grinds to a halt when im transferring CUMPTF Images from a windows server to it (FTP).
