Hi:

If find this "we have to call it what it is today" argument pretty
senseless.

We have an AS/400 (Model 720). Going by the logo on the front, it is
actually an "AS/400e Series". We don't have a single "i anything" in the
building.

We have three PCs running Windows 95. We do not call their operating
system Windows XP (or Windows 98, or Windows Millenium, or Windows 2000,
or Windows NT, or Windows Vista). We call it Windows 95, and will continue
doing so until we ditch those dinosaurs -- oh, come the glorious day!

When we get a "Series i5" then that is what I will call it. Until then,
don't tell me I'm working on something I don't have.

Does anyone know of anyone using Windows XP but refers to it as Windows
95?

The same with our system.

AS/400 = Win95
iSeries = Win98/2000
i5 = XP/Vista

If we can adapt to what M$ calls its products, and since change is an
inherent part of our culture as IT pros, it shouldn't be difficult to
assimilate to i5.

Regards, Jerry
